The aim is to support the execution of applied research for adaptation measures to climate changes in the vulnerable and/or transversal sectors, identified in the Seventh national report of the Republic of Croatia according to United Nations Framework convention on climate change. The vulnerable sectors are as follows: hydrology, control of water and sea resources, agriculture, forestry, fishery, natural ecosystem and biodiversity, energy, tourism, healthcare. Transversal sectors are space planning and coastal area management.
Possible usage of the funding instrument in the P2G context: Within the prospective research projects scheme it was possible and very favourable to apply a project that covers multi-sectoral research on biomass from forestry and agriculture and renewable electricity when a development of a methodology for design of cross-sectoral biomass-gas-electricity coupling hubs would be proposed. Further, piloting within this R&D funded project is also possible.
