The programme promotes international collaborative projects within the framework of the German National Bioeconomy Strategy. The funding supports strategic international cooperation building policy, exploring synergies between countries and regions to support the development of a sustainable, global bioeconomy and exploiting the potential of the bioeconomy in the said context. 

Possible usage of the funding instrument in the P2G context: As a forum focused on R&D, research approaches for further development of innovative biotechnological processes for bio-based production systems are funded. Although specific P2G projects could not be established, sufficient expertise in residue management in various projects could be valuable while implementing such technology.
