The construction of a facility for the conversion of electricity into hydrogen or synthetic gas with a minimum capacity of 1 MW (or minimum capacity of 0.5 MW and a maximum capacity of less than 1 MW)  may be supported by an investment grant if the facility is used exclusively for the production of renewable gases and purchases exclusively renewable electricity. 

Possible usage of the funding instrument in the P2G context: Directly applicable for an investment in facilities for converting electricity into hydrogen or synthetic gas, under the condition that all eligibility criteria are adhered to.

Volume annual funding for investment subsidies amounts to 40 million euros

Limitations No subsidy for facilities that are constructed and operated by electricity network operators; No subsidy for facilities that add hydrogen to natural gas in the public gas grid; The facility must be commissioned within 36 months of the conclusion of the funding contract
